Based in Berlin, Friedrich Kuhn plays a key role in Egon Zehnder’s Health and CEO practices. He developed the Egon Zehnder Transformational Leadership framework and now leads the global Practice, which helps CEOs, top teams, and entire organizations become more responsive, proactive, and competitive. Drawing on his deep experience as a health-care consultant, Friedrich also helps organizations recruit and integrate top external talent as well as develop internal leadership.
In times of transformative challenges leadership makes all the difference. And it is quite a different repertoire the best leaders and teams develop and apply to change the mindset of entire organizations. It is my passion to help individuals and teams to acquire this repertoire.
Before working for Egon Zehnder, Friedrich served on the board of Blueorbit E-Business AG, a business consulting and implementation provider with a strong focus on the health-care market. Before that, he was a consultant for McKinsey & Company in Munich, starting as an Associate and quickly advancing to the role of Engagement Manager. His projects included post-merger integrations, reshaping global value chains, and redesigning organizations after a fundamental market transformation.
Friedrich earned an MA in mathematics from the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich as well as a PhD in philosophy. Music is important in his life: He plays cello in an orchestra of managers, and his wife is a professional harpist. Friedrich is very devoted to his two sons, who also have an artistic bent, and enjoys traveling and spending weekends with his family on a houseboat in the lakes around Berlin.
